Hiring a contractor can be a difficult task for anyone even a contractor. Few people think of that taking place when they are searching for the right General Building contractor to head up their project, however it is the General Building Contractor’s ability to hire subcontractors that is key to a fast efficient job. A good General Building Contractor will always hire qualified contractors for different phases of the job, and may never actually put the tool belt on.

I have learned this lesson the hard way through years of trial and error. In order to serve my customers better with my knowledge I must remain focused on the logistics of the job and not be mired down in the labor associated with every aspect of the job. A General Building Contractor is someone you hire to make sure your project is produced at the highest level of economy, efficiency, and longevity. That description requires putting the pencil to the paper for, obtaining necessary permits, giving an accurate estimate, providing a well written contract, providing all of the necessary legal instruments, making agreements, inspecting job sites, maintaining schedules, receiving payments, distributing payments, and a host of other duties. This is a full time job before you even think about putting on a tool belt. When I do put on the belt it is only for the trades I do best such as: framing, carpentry, finish work, and electrical.

The prep work in any job is usually the precursor to the quality of the final product. This holds true in virtually any project. So the planning for a job is of the utmost importance entailing accurate: blueprints, agreements, and followup that are all the responsibility of the General Building Contracor.

The General Building Contractor is the homeowners link to a good job and not someone they should be expecting on the job site working all day. What goes on behind the scenes is the key to success. The General Building Contractor moves the chess pieces for the homeowner utilizing hard won experience only years of service in the trades can provide. When hiring a General Building Contractor they had better be a General and not a Sergeant or something will be lacking.
